Okay there you go, the eight generations of the Honda Civic. I'm sure you've probably seen the earlier models but you just don't recall what year it was. Anyways, a lot innovations have transpired throughout the years and I guess its safe to say that there's more to look forward to in the coming years.

Honda Wows the People in Reliability Study

A grand round of applause for Honda's achievement in the reliability study conducted by “Which? Car” for new car models. As expected, our loved Honda Civic could be found at the top of the list on the bracket of medium cars, the Accord, F-RV and C-RV were happy takers as well. But it was the Jazz Supermini that topped over-all. Hmm... something about the growing trend in driving small cars i suppose?

But it is just as well. After all, Honda is the maker of the Civic, and other well-appreciated cars. Pity to the other cars who have not been able to be as “reliable” as we expected them to be, namely, the VW Passat, Peugeot 307, and the Renault Machine. However, Which? Car has noted the Land Rover Discovery 3 as the least reliable car, saying that it was “not as big and as tough as it thinks it is,” with an outrageous 79 percent. Anyway, this is just another testimony as to how reliable a Honda car is, so you guys better make the right decisions. *wink

Honda Civic Drivers: Take Extra Precautions

It has been a mind-boggling fact that a series of car theft has recorded a disturbing number of Honda Civic cars being stolen. Well I...I'm not sure if that is because of lack of security, or if it is because it's a Honda Civic. I mean, come on. It is a car that is bound to last. Yes, i am turning this catastrophic news into a light and witty feature on how lovely the Honda Civic is. But I also want to warn owners out there to take the necessary precautions to take care of your precious cars, no matter how old they are.

Here's the report: A 1996 Honda Accord was reported stolen June 23 from the 100 block of Sherris Way in Smithsburg and was recovered Wednesday in Smithsburg, stripped of its rims, tires and other parts, deputies said. A 1994 Honda Civic was reported stolen Wednesday from the 18000 block of Bloomfield Court in Hagerstown and also was recovered Wednesday in Smithsburg, about half a mile from the other recovered vehicle. It also was stripped of its rims and tires. Three other vehicles - a 1994 Honda Civic DelSol, a 1992 Honda Civic and a 1995 Acura---were reported stolen Wednesday from three different areas in Hagerstown.

Look Out! The Honda Civic Mugen Type RR is Ready to Hit Japan!

For all Type R fans out there, your favorite ride just got hotter. It has been confirmed that Honda will be releasing a new Type R in Japan by the 13^th of September! But what's even better is that this new ride will also be wearing the Mugen patch! Hence, let us all rise for the new Honda Civic Type RR Mugen.

This was said to be an exclusive model due to a limited 300-unit production only. So for those who would want to grab the ultimate car that is twice the Type R with Mugen, you guys better fly off to Japan now. (I know I want one.) The modifications made shows an increased width (+20mm: 1790mm), a lowered (-15mm) but also lighter body(-30kg: 1240kg) and a more powerful motor (from 225PS to 240PS @ 8.000rpm and 22.2kg-m of torque instead of 21.9). So, is this ride gonna be hitting auto stores worldwide? We don't know yet, but for the mean time, you can drool over these pics first courtesy of the AutoBlog.

Team Halfords Honda Civic Wins at the BTCC!

Let us give a round of applause for Gordon “Flash”/”Super Shedden” Shedden as he led the Team Halfords Honda Civic to victory in the recently concluded 2007 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship. His teammate Matt Neal has also garnered an impressive two fourth place finishes, which means that both Shedden and Neal have won this season with Team Halfords' first Super 2000 entry.
Check out these cool pics I snagged from btccpages.com, to see how Colin Turkington's BMW had the lead, only to come out short in the end for Shedden's first win with the Honda Civic. However, a fall-out clouded the team's victory during the second (Flash was taken out on the opening, but Neal finished his second fourth place victory for the day) and third (Neal was taken out this time, but Shedden retained the fourth place finish for the team) race. But in the end, it was still Team Halfords Honda Civic who took home the trophy.

Meet the Honda Civic's Sister, the Acura CSX

Due to the rise of the Honda Civic, its sister company, Acura, has created a new addition to the line of its luxury cars. Despite of its kinship and similarities to the Honda Civic, it still boasts of its own uniqueness. Perhaps the biggest would be its engine, the same 2.0-liter 4-cylinder mill found in Acura's sporty RSX coupe. The lightweight, aluminum engine delivers 155 hp---15 more ponies than the 1.8-liter unit found in the Civic. This baby was begot in Honda's assembly plot in Alliston, Canada. Check this sister out and spot its likeness to the loved Honda Civic. surely, it will receive good love from the people too.

Oh by the way, Acura is the sister company of Honda. So this kinship between the Honda Civic and the Acura CSX---totally legal. The only difference is Acura is aimed to the higher masses, whereas Honda is for everybody. For after all, how can you keep a Honda Civic from anybody who wants to own one?
